Why is Music separated from other topics in the Topics Tab?

Music content lives by its own rules — here's why we keep it in its own lane.



Winnin Intelligence separates Music Topics from regular Topics in our taxonomy because of fundamental differences in how each type of content is consumed on video platforms. Mixing them in the same view can create statistical distortions caused precisely by these behavioral differences.

Music Topics are anchored by music video and live performance content — clips, live concerts, covers, and similar formats. These videos follow a distinct consumption pattern:

They are rewatched repeatedly, often by the same people, over long periods of time — which naturally inflates viewership and engagement numbers.

Regular Topics, on the other hand, follow a different logic: once a video is watched, it's almost never rewatched.

Example: If you watched a video of a trickshot challenge or a makeup GRWM, there's little reason to watch it again — unlike a favorite song you return to over and over.

Keeping these two categories separate ensures that the data you see in Winnin Intelligence is accurate and comparable within each content type.
